Palais des congrès de Montréal – At the Nexus of the Action
It all started in 1983. Since then, the Palais des congrès de Montréal has hosted over 5,900 events, more than 15 million visitors and has built a reputation for excellence the world over. Our team of highly experienced professionals keeps track of the smallest details and thrives on finding solutions to all kinds of situations. The Palais des congrès de Montréal is strategically located in the downtown core of the city, connecting the Business District, the International Quarter, the Entertainment District, Chinatown and the Health District. Only 20 minutes from the city’s international airport, the Palais is close to 14,000 hotel rooms and linked directly to 4,000 rooms through the city’s Underground Pedestrian Network.
It is within walking distance of Old Montréal’s heritage attractions and the St. Lawrence River as well as a great number of boutiques, department stores, museums, theatres, art galleries, bars and restaurants.
As part of its role as a leader in sustainable development, in 2012, the Palais des congrès lauched an ambitious project to raise bees on its rooftop garden with the help of Miel Montréal. The hives at the Palais are populated by more than 150,000 Italian Bees that play a vital role in the pollination of the Culti-Vert rooftop garden. They produce more than 100 kg of high-quality white clover honey and ensure the beauty of the Palais gardens. At the height of the season, each hive can contain up to 70,000 bees that work in perfect harmony to ensure the survival of the colony. During the winter, the bees rest but don’t sleep. They maintain the hive temperature at about 37 degress Celcius, despite the cold Québec winter!
